My name is Arrielle! I am a doula in Janesville. I am a resident of Janesville, and have been for most of my life. I married my husband over seven years ago and we had our son almost four years ago now. I am also a stepmother to two other boys. I volunteer regularly as a Bible teacher in the Janesville area and love doing so. Family and my faith are very important to me.
I decided to become a doula and lactation counselor for the same reason many others do, because of my own experience. The birth of my son was not bad, just very eventful, to say the least. I also came to realize very quickly how difficult it can be, especially for a first time mother, to suddenly leave the hospital and have this new, tiny human completely dependent on you for sustenance and life!
I finally made it through the "fog", and not long after, helped a friend with breastfeeding her newborn. I realized I enjoyed using what I had learned to help someone else at such a special and difficult time in life. And so it began...
I am currently training with Childbirth International as a Birth Doula and Lactation Counselor. After training, I am required to attend a few births, to apply the things I have learned. I then can become a Certified Birth Doula! To receive my certification for lactation counseling, I will be helping mothers with any of their breastfeeding issues.
I very much look forward to working with mamas and their families, providing comfort, reassurance, and knowledge during these special times!
